Ingredients
- 1.5 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce coffee liqueur
- 1 ounce espresso (freshly brewed or cold brew concentrate)
- 0.5 ounce simple syrup (optional, can be adjusted to taste)
- Coffee beans (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Chill: Fill a martini glass with ice and set it aside to chill.
- Combine: Add vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and simple syrup (if using) to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake vigorously: Fill the shaker with ice and shake for about 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels frosty and a foamy layer forms on top.
- Strain: Discard the ice from the martini glass and double strain the cocktail into the chilled glass. You can use a fine-mesh strainer to ensure a smooth texture.
- Garnish: Top your espresso martini with three coffee beans and enjoy!
Tips:
- Use high-quality espresso for the best flavor.
- If you don’t have simple syrup, you can substitute with sugar or another sweetener to taste.
- For a visual flair, you can dust the top of the drink with cocoa powder or espresso powder before adding the coffee beans.
- Be sure to shake the cocktail well to create a nice frothy top.
- Enjoy responsibly! Espresso martinis are quite strong.
