- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the cinnamon to infuse.
- Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Let it cool slightly, then strain out the cinnamon sticks (if using).
- Store in a glass jar or bottle in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
