Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (or 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, but adds warmth)
  • Pinch of salt (balances sweetness)

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the cinnamon to infuse.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Let it cool slightly, then strain out the cinnamon sticks (if using).
  6. Store in a glass jar or bottle in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
