Ingredients

  • 4 thin beef steaks (sirloin or top round works well)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • In one bowl, mix the flour with a pinch of salt and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Dredge each steak in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip them in the beaten eggs, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the crumbs stick.
  • In a large skillet, heat enough oil to cover the bottom over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the breaded steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan—work in batches if necessary.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges, a side salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
