- Combine soy sauce, dark brown sugar, and molasses in a saucepan. Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add water to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce thicken, stirring occasionally. This may take around 15-20 minutes.
- Once the sauce reaches your desired thickness, remove it from the heat and let it cool completely. Pour the homemade dark soy sauce into a clean bottle or jar for storage.
