Ingredients

  • 2 cups of strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder
  • Whipped cream or sweetened condensed milk (for serving)

Method

  1. Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and add the sugar while the coffee is still hot, stirring until fully dissolved.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over 3 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for a few minutes until the gelatin blooms (absorbs the water and swells).
  3. Gently heat the bloomed gelatin in the microwave or on the stovetop until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the dissolved gelatin into the hot coffee and stir well to combine.
  5. Pour the coffee mixture into a shallow dish or individual serving cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the coffee jelly is fully set.
  6. Once set, cut the jelly into cubes if using a shallow dish, or serve directly from the cups.
  7. Top with whipped cream or a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk before serving for an extra touch of sweetness and creaminess.
