Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pork belly, skin on

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1.  Start by patting the pork belly dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy skin. Score the skin lightly with a sharp knife, careful not to cut into the meat.

  2.  Combine the sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl. Rub this mixture evenly over the pork belly, ensuring it gets into the scored skin. Drizzle the olive oil over the pork belly and rub it in to ensure an even coating.

  3.  Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3-5 minutes.

  4.  Place the pork belly in the air fryer basket, skin side up. Cook for 30-35 minutes, checking halfway through to see if the skin is crisping up and to rotate the pork belly if necessary. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the pork belly, so keep an eye on it.

  5. Once the pork belly is golden brown and crispy, remove it from the air fryer and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring tender meat. Slice the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and serve with your favourite dipping sauce or as part of a larger meal.
